Christmas in Sant Cugat 2024: The magic of the holidays in every corner of the city 🎄 ✨
Once again, Sant Cugat dresses up to embrace a magical Christmas full of excitement and joy. With around 300 activities organized with the support of over 60 organisations, the city becomes a place where young and old can enjoy unforgettable moments. From 30th November to 5th January, immerse yourself in unique experiences like the grand lighting of the Christmas lights on 29th November, Pedra i Sang (“Stone and Blood”), Cant de la Sibil·la (“The Song of the Sibyl”), Quinto de Nadal, the Campament Reial (“Royal Camp”), the magical Cavalcada dels Reis d’Orient (“Three Kings Parade”), and the charming Trenet de Nadal (“Christmas Train”).

Pedra i Sang (Stone and Blood), the tragic Christmas night of 1350
Join us for the XXIV Edition of Pedra i Sang (“Stone and Blood”), taking place on 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th December in the Chapter Hall of Sant Cugat Monastery.
Don’t miss this musical tragicomedy that takes us back to Christmas Eve 1350 to relive the dramatic murder of Abbot Biure. A unique experience featuring the Amics de Pedra i Sang group, with text by Josep M. Jaumà, music by Joan Alavedra, musical direction by Cris Martínez, and stage direction by Martina Vilarasau.

Cant de la Sibil·la (The Song of the Sibyl), a musical experience in the heart of the Monastery
On the evening of 14th December, immerse yourself in history with the Cant de la Sibil·la (“Song of the Sibyl”), a medieval chant declared a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Performed by Ensemble Contratemps and Cor de la Sibil·la, this unique concert blends tradition and innovation.
The evening begins with a sacred and sombre segment in the Monastery, where the Cant de la Sibil·la transports the audience to an apocalyptic universe. The performance continues in the Cloister, with music that transitions to a brighter and more festive tone.

Quinto de Nadal (a traditional Catalan Christmas Bingo game)
Enjoy this Christmas tradition at PAV2 of ZEM Rambla del Celler, from 25 to 29 December, with special activities such as the Folk and Popular Culture Night on 27th December and the Children’s “Quinto”on 29th December, organizsed by Cal Temerari. The “Quinto” is a unique Catalan tradition, not identical to regular bingo.

- 27/12: 7 pm to 10 pm (Folk Night: 10:30 pm to 3 am)
- 28/12: 7 pm to 2 am
- 29/12: Children’s “Quinto” from 5 pm to 7 pm, and “Quinto” from 7 pm to midnight.
Campament Reial (The Royal Camp) returns to the Cloister of the Monastery!
From 2nd to 4th January, with the collaboration of Els Amics dels Veterans and La Regalèssia, children can deliver their letters to the ambassadors of the Reis d’Orient (Three Kings) at the magical Royal Camp in the Cloister of the Monastery
- Inclusive Hours: 3 pm to 4 pm, the camp will be specially adapted for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other specific needs
- Reservation: Available from 20th December at 7 pm via the Royal Camp website.
The Reis d’Orient (Three Kings) arrive in Sant Cugat!
Once again, Their Majesties the Three Kings will visit Sant Cugat, bringing magic and joy to the little ones. On 5th January, in addition to parading through the city centre, they will also visit the neighbourhoods of Mira-sol, La Floresta, Les Planes, and the EMD Valldoreix. They will arrive in a unique way: by public transport to the first three neighbourhoods and on horseback to Valldoreix, nestled in the heart of Collserola.
La cavalcada dels Reis d’Orient (The Three Kings Parade)
The celebration will begin with a warm official welcome from the mayor at 5:45 pm. From there, the Three Kings will parade through the streets of the city centre before arriving at Plaça de l’U d’Octubre. As a new addition this year, they will collect letters from the children of Sant Cugat at Plaça d’Octavià.

- Route: Av. Pla del Vinyet, Francesc Moragues Street, Rius i Taulet Avenue, Lluís Companys Avenue, Rosselló Street, Sant Bonaventura Street, Rambla del Celler, Puig i Cadafalch Street, Rambla del Celler, Cerdanyola Avenue, and arrival at Plaça de l’U d’Octubre.
- 8:45 pm: Letter Collection
- The Three Kings will meet the children at Plaça d’Octavià to receive their wishes.

Trenet de Nadal (Christmas Train)
Enjoy the Christmas magic with the train, which will run from 2nd December to 5th January..
- Schedule:
- Weekdays: 11 am to 2 pm
- Weekends and holidays: 11 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 8 pm
- Not operational on 25th, 26th December, and 1st January.
- Main Stop: Plaça Octavià.
- Entry: Present a €5 purchase receipt from any Sant Cugat shop for each person(from 29 November 29). Accompanied children can ride for free.
