The commitment of Sant Cugat City Council to accessibility

This website has been developed in accordance with the requirements of the UNE-EN 301549:2022 standard, taking into account the exceptions set out in Royal Decree 1112/2018.

The Tourism website of the Sant Cugat City Council has been developed with the aim of facilitating universal access for all users, regardless of their physical, sensory or intellectual abilities, and of the technical context in which they access it (type of device, software, connection speed, environmental conditions, etc.).

For this reason, we work with the aim of removing barriers that hinder access to information and communication.

The City Council’s commitment is to continue working towards achieving full compliance with Level AA, as required of public administrations under European and national legislation.

Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 ets out the rules requiring Member States to ensure that all public sector websites and mobile applications, regardless of the device used to access them, comply with the accessibility requirements set out in Standard UNE-EN 301549:2022, on accessibility requirements for the public procurement of ICT products and services in Europe.

Standard UNE-EN 301549:2022 is mainly based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, from August 2018. Specifically, level AA must be met. However, the standard also includes other additional mandatory and conditional requirements.

The directive is mandatory but not directly applicable; therefore, at national level a royal decree has been developed to define its scope and requirements as a minimum. The national transposition is Royal Decree 1112/2018, of 7 September, on the accessibility of public sector websites and mobile applications.
